Data from the Department of Health for England revealed there are 302 flu patients in intensive care beds. It is unclear how many have the H1N1 'swine flu' strain but they are expected to be in the majority. The figure is therefore likely to be higher than the 190 confirmed hospital cases so far. ‘We’re only two weeks into it and we’re already seeing lots of patients. It has got the potential to get worse.
